Who We Are
Ford Risk Management was established in 2003 with the aim of helping organisations to avoid loss or damage. Our founding principles remain true to this day; keeping things simple, creating solutions that work in the setting in which they are used and finally, to accept that change can take time to embed effectively.
Today we employ a growing team of risk managers who draw on a wealth of experience from their past roles within areas such as enforcement, consultancy, education, leisure, facilities, construction and care to name but a few. This experience is used and adapted to ensure we meet the requirements of the organisation be it a charity, educational establishment, care facility or commercial organisation.
Risk Management + Insurance
There is a natural synergy between insurance and risk management; the more effective the risk management, the more controlled the claims exposure will be, which in turn leads to long term insurance premium stabilisation. In addition, a positive attitude towards risk management presents an excellent moral, legal and financial risk to insurance companies, who will look more favourably upon such clients.
Our reputation is built on quality standards. Here are some of our recent achievements which are a testament to the standard of our services:
Awarded National Union of Student (NUS) preferred supplier of risk management and health and safety solutions to universities, students’ unions and higher education facilities.
Winner of Best People Development Award at The York Press Business Awards 2015.
Awarded Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA) award.
Awarded Hospice Quality Partnership (HQP) preferred supplier of insurance and risk management services.
Our risk professionals work closely with other organisations to develop robust, effective yet simple risk management solutions. Ford’s growing team are able to draw on a wealth of experience from their past including industry, enforcement and consultancy. This experience is adapted to meet the unique requirements of your organisation. Using this experience we can benchmark quality, learn from others and raise standards without having to start from first principles each and every time.
To ensure professional standards are continually maintained, our experienced team of risk managers have the required training, knowledge and formal qualifications which have enabled them to become members of the relevant professional bodies such as: the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IoSH), the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and the Association of Project Safety.
As such, our risk managers are accepted onto the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR) which is a register of consultants who have met set standards within their professional body. All those on the register have a minimum of two years’ experience, a degree level qualification and are committed to continuing professional development.
